Release to PLM - Setup Application Preferences

1. Invoke the Dashboard GUI by executing the batch file in the installation folder <connectorInstallationFolder>\AltiumToPlm\launch_dashboard.bat

2. Open Preferences form using the Window > Preferences menu within the Dashboard GUI.

3. Update BOM Preferences by expanding the Workbench node and clicking the Bom Global Settings node. 

Check the box for Ignore null Ref Des. This allows for BOM items to be published that don't have a designator value. This is typical for Document items that are part of the BOM structure. 

The BOM key property names table contains key attribute mapping specific to your PLM system.

For Arena PLM

Item Number                   Part Number

Reference Designator        refDes

Quantity                          quantity

For Agile PLM

Item Number                   Number

Reference Designator        Ref Des

Quantity                          Qty

Click OK to save these preferences.

 

4. Invoke the Project Editor shortcut from the Dashboard GUI

 

5. Update Driver specific parameters 

Click a Driver node (Altium Designer, Altium Vault) to display its parameters on the right. The Parameters updated at the driver level are inherited by all projects related to that driver. 

For Altium Designer

Under ECAD Settings check the box for BOM Compression and Ref Des compression

Click Save to accept and store the values.

 

For Altium Vault

Under Login Information specify your Vault URL, User Name, and Password.

Under ECAD Settings check the box for BOM Compression and Ref Des compression

Click Save to accept and store the values. 

 

6. Update BOM Key properties

The default configuration file is for Arena PLM. 

Follow these instructions to update the file for an Agile PLM environment. This parameters indicates a unique row in the BOM preview page of the wizard and is used for BOM Comparison. This value can include multiple PLM fields, for example if you are not collapsing your BOM and have 1 refdes per line you may have the value "Number,Ref Des".

1. Navigate to the <connectorInstallationFolder>\AltiumtoPlm\configuration folder.

2. Open the config.ini file in a text editor.

3. Search for the string                       edac.plm.agile.bom.key.cells=Part Number

Replace the current value "Part number" with "Number"

edac.plm.agile.bom.key.cells=Number

4. Save the File.
